Face Time with Marilyn Szabo

St. Charles resident Marilyn Szabo, 72, was at her garage sale when she answered 10 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? Flint, Michigan

Pets? Two cats, Mollie and Heidi

First job? A hospital phlebotomist

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to work in medical technology, and I became that. I was director of Delnor Hospital’s lab in Geneva and recently retired.

A movie you’d recommend? Any movie with George Clooney in it.

Favorite charity? St. Charles police and fire

Do you play an instrument? I play flute and piccolo

What game show would you be on? “Wheel of Fortune”

Favorite local restaurant? Gen Hoe in Geneva

What is an interesting factoid about yourself?  With my music, I won a lot of competitions with my flute playing.
