ST. CHARLES – Visitors to the 146th Kane County Fair don't have to wait until the event to purchase their tickets.
New this year, all tickets will be available for purchase in advance through a PayPal connection at the event website, www.kanecountyfair.com.
The fair is set for July 16 to 20 at the Kane County Fairgrounds in St. Charles. The midway opens at 3 p.m. July 16 and 17 and at noon July 18 to 20.
Admission is $5 on July 16 and 17 and $10 for adults and $5 for ages 3 to 12 on July 18 to 20. A five-day season pass is $20 for fair admission.
Admission is free for children younger than three years old. Other discounts apply for members of the military with ID and those older than 62. Grandstand highlights include FMX freestyle motocross, professional championship bull riding and a demolition derby.
Daily outdoor events feature a carnival, racing pigs, a tiger show and cow-milking demonstrations.
The tentative 4-H schedule includes livestock judging, a milking derby, a horse and pony dressage show and a blue ribbons sale. Visit web.extension.illinois.edu for details.
A commercial expo featuring local businesses and services will be held in the Prairie Events Center, which is air conditioned.
Musical acts include such tribute bands as Chicago Tribute Anthology, American English and the Neverly Brothers.
