Mayor Rogina to conduct at 'Concert in the Park'

ST. CHARLES – St. Charles Mayor Ray Rogina will be a guest conductor when the Fox Valley Academy and Philharmonic performs at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, June 29, at a “Concert in the Park” event at Pottawatomie Park, 8 North Ave., St. Charles.

The Philharmonic will perform classical favorites. The ensembles will offer the audience the opportunity to sing-along to Broadway musicals as well as patriotic pieces in honor of the Independence Day holiday. The program will conclude with the traditional playing of John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever” conducted by Rogina.

The concert is free and open to the public. Visitors can bring lawn chairs or a blanket, and they are invited to bring a picnic dinner or purchase food from the concessions available at Pottawatomie Park. This concert is made possible through a grant from the Illinois Arts Council. For information, call 630-476-9072, or visit www.FVacademy.org.
