Artists, St. Charles businesses team up for Art Around the Corner

ST. CHARLES – The Downtown St. Charles Partnership is hosting the fifth annual Art Around the Corner in downtown St. Charles. This program pairs regional artists with downtown businesses that display a piece or pieces of the artists’ work, resulting in exposure for both the artists and businesses.

The program length has been expanded this year, and will run through Labor Day weekend, according to a news release. The pairings of artists and businesses will include:

• Blue Goose Market, 300 S. Second St.: Greta Bell (oil panting)

• BMO Harris Bank, 1 E. Main St.: Jim Manos (prints)

• BMO Harris Bank, 409 S. First St.: Jim Manos (prints)

• Directions in Clothing, 202 E. Cedar Ave.: Donna Baiocchi and Maria Rebelo (fine art photography)

• Eliza Jane, 322 W. Main St.: Ali Brochar (bottle cap art), HN Designs (duct tape art)

• Forever Yogurt, 117 W. Main St.: Ahmad Yilmaz (mural)

• Puebla Modern Mexican, 51 S. First St.: Doug Eageny (sculpture)

• Jeans and a Cute Top Shop, 161 S. First St.: Guy Bellaver (sculpture)

• JP Jewelers, 151 S. 1st St.: Peggy Sue Seehafer (glass work)

• Kimmer’s Ice Cream, 1 W. Illinois St.: Kari Kraus (fiber Installation)

• McDowell Remodeling, 521 W. Main St.: Howard Russo (sculpture)

• Water Street Studios Print Lab, 117 W. Main St.: various artists (variety of fine art)

• Municipal Building, 2 E. Main St.: Sandra Mehl (Gouache), July 14 to 21
