Faint tire marks remain Thursday in front of a traffic pole at Kirk Road and Pine Street. A car hit the pole after a head-on collision with another car, Batavia Fire Deputy Chief Randall Banker said.

BATAVIA - One man and one woman were transported to a local hospital after two separate Thursday afternoon crashes, one involving a motorcycle, on Kirk Road, said Randy Banker, Batavia deputy fire chief.

One crash involved a head-on collision of two cars somewhere in the intersection of Kirk Road and Pine Street. The other crash involved a car and a motorcycle about 100 yards north of the other crash, Banker said.

The Batavia Fire Department was dispatched to the crashes at 1:46 p.m. Thursday.

The man and woman's injuries from the crash are not considered to be life-threatening at this time, Banker said.

Traffic was rerouted  in the area while police and fire crews responded to the crash. Kirk Road and Pine Street were open to traffic Thursday afternoon after the crash scene was cleared.
