Kane County Sheriff’s Office reports

• A St. Charles resident reported Thursday, July 3, that someone last summer stole his name and Social Security number in Las Vegas in an attempt to open a bank and credit card account. He told police someone tried to file 2014 taxes in his name, and in May he received a letter stating an account had been opened in his name. Charges reportedly totaled more than $14,000.

• A spare tire was reported stolen Thursday, July 3, from a 2003 Toyota in the 39W300 block of Weaver Lane, Geneva. The value was estimated at $265.

• A pair of diamond earrings and two gold necklaces were reported stolen Tuesday, July 8, from a resident of the Greenfields of Geneva, 0N801 Friendship Way, Geneva.
