Face Time with Eric Groth

St. Charles resident Eric Groth, 44, was working at his community garden at the Hickory Knolls Discovery Center in St. Charles with his children Judah, 9, Daniel, 6, Genevieve, 4 and Rachel, 15, when he answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? St. Charles

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Robert Downey Jr.

Pets? A bearded dragon named Big Girl

First job? Bagging ice at SavWay Fine Wines and Spirits in St. Charles, where my dad was the manager.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A Major League Baseball player. I became a film producer. I produce short films for Catholic teens.

What game show would you be on? “Whose Line Is It, Anyway?”

A movie you’d recommend? “What About Bob?”

Do you speak another language? Spanish

Favorite charity? The Haitian Project

Favorite local restaurant? Jalapeño Grille in St. Charles.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I saw Mother Theresa and heard her speak in Costa Rica.
