Art historian to present 'Monuments Men' lecture at library

BATAVIA – “The Monuments Men: Saving Europe’s Treasures” will be presented at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 21, at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia.

Art historian Jeff Mishur will explain how the military, museum officials, and art professionals worked together to protect cultural treasures during and after World War II.

The presentation includes slides of some of the most significant works of art that were repatriated, as well as some artworks never found.
