Two men staying at St. Charles hotel face drug charges

ST. CHARLES – Two men who were staying at a St. Charles hotel face felony drug charges following an investigation into illegal drug distribution, according to a press release from the North Central Narcotics Task Force.

Trevor S. Brubaker, 21, is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a Class 3 felony; possession of a controlled substance, clonazepam, a Class 4 felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

Ryan M. Kitowski, 21, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, heroin, a Class 4 felony; possession of a controlled substance, clonazepam, a Class 4 felony; possession of a controlled substance, Adderall, a Class 4 felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.

The release indicates both men are of St. Charles.

At about 6:30 p.m. July 8, the task force – which had gotten information from the St. Charles Police Department – reportedly searched the hotel room where Brubaker and Kitowski were staying, the Best Western at 1635 E. Main St.

According to the release, agents seized about 50 grams of marijuana, less than 1 gram of heroin, 30 Adderall pills, 15 clonazepam pills and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia.

The men were taken to the Kane County jail. Brubaker's bail was set at $25,000 with 10 percent to apply, and Kitowski's was set at $50,000 with 10 percent to apply, the release states.

Online records for the Kane County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday showed Kitowski remained in custody while Brubaker was not.
