Negotiating teams for SSECCA, Elgin Community College Board reach tentative agreement on contract

ELGIN – Negotiating teams for the Support Staff of Elgin Community College Association – or SSECCA – and the Elgin Community College Board of Trustees have reached a tentative agreement on a new three-year contract, states a news release from ECC.

The two parties agreed to the tentative contract on Wednesday. Negotiations began in April, and the SSECCA contract expired on June 30, states the release.

“SSECCA’s negotiating team believes we have reached a tentative agreement that all members will recognize benefits,” said Robert Treadwell, SSECCA union president, in the release.

SSECCA membership will schedule a meeting to ratify the agreement, which will be followed by final approval by the ECC Board of Trustees. Both teams have agreed not to release contract details until the tentative agreement is ratified by both parties, the release states.
