Face Time With Lisa Cooper

South Elgin resident Lisa Cooper, 29, was working at the front desk at the Hickory Knolls Discovery Center in St. Charles when she answered nine questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? In the Chicago suburbs and in Colorado.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? I would play myself.

First job? In the circulation department at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher, and I am. I teach environmental science, and I am a naturalist here. And I’m working on getting a book published.

A book you’d recommend? Anything by Diane Ackerman or Carl Sagan.

Favorite charity? Astronomers Without Borders and OneDarkSky.com, a local site about preserving dark skies. 

What game show would you be on? “Chopped.”

Favorite local restaurant? Preservation Bread and Wine in Geneva.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I am a novice astronomer.
