Two women hurt in two-car crash in Sugar Grove

SUGAR GROVE TOWNSHIP – Two women were transported for minor injuries Saturday after a two-car crash north of Sugar Grove village limits, said Josh Lopez, a Sugar Grove Battalion Fire Chief.

The Sugar Grove Fire Department was dispatched at 5:54 p.m. Saturday for the crash, which occurred at the intersection of Harter and Scott roads, Lopez said.

Fire crews found one women near the sport utility vehicle she was driving, and the other had to be lightly extricated from her four-door car. The woman driving the sport utility vehicle was able to leave the vehicle on her own, Lopez said.

"Both cars were damaged on the front driver's side," he said.

The women were each transported to Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, and the two vehicles were towed from the scene, Lopez said.

Lopez did not know if the the women were local residents. Sugar Grove Police assisted with traffic control after the crash and the Kane County Sheriff's Office also responded to the scene, Sugar Grove Police Chief Pat Rollins said.

Further information on the incident was not immediately available Saturday evening.
