Oswego-based wastewater treatment facility honored

The Fox Metro Water Reclamation District has been selected to receive a Silver Peak Performance Award.

The Peak Performance Awards program, presented by the National Association of Clean Water Agencies, recognizes public wastewater treatment facilities for their outstanding compliance records in the 2013 calendar year, states a news release.

The association recognized 450 Peak Performance Award facilities during the association’s 2014 Summer Conference and 44th annual meeting that took place July 13 through July 16, in Portland, Oregon.

The Fox Metro Water Reclamation District is located on Route 31 in Oswego, and serves a population of almost 300,000 in the communities of Aurora, North Aurora, Oswego, Montgomery, Sugar Grove and parts of Batavia and Yorkville.

In the release, Ken Kirk, NACWA’s executive director said: “The Fox Metro Water Reclamation District is an outstanding example of environmental efforts. NACWA is honored to showcase the achievements of the Fox Metro WRD and our nation’s public wastewater utilities through the Peak Performance Awards Program.”
