Jessica Potter, 8, and Kayla King, 7, twirl in their flower girl dresses before Michelle Gillespie and Ronald King's wedding Saturday at Mill Creek Golf Club in Geneva. Jessica and Kayla are Michelle's sister and daughter, respectively.

The day was filled with joy, as I had the privilege of documenting Michelle Gillespie and Ronald King’s wedding ceremony this past Saturday at the Mill Creek Golf Club in Geneva.

Michelle and Ronald’s wedding was supposed to happen last summer, but it was put on hold after Michelle was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma just weeks before their ceremony.

The couple finally had their day, on a sunny August Saturday. While waiting for Michelle to get into her beautiful dress, I noticed her daughter, Kayla King, 7, and her sister, Jessica Potter, 8, twirling through the hallway in their flower girl dresses. I think it summed up the fun and exuberance of the day of their dreams. Congratulations!
