FaceTime with Valerie Farkas

Geneva resident Valerie Farkas, 53, was volunteering at the Batavia Moose for the TriCity Family Services’ Trivia Night Fundraiser when she answered 11 questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.  

Where did you grow up? Hollis, New Hampshire.

Pets? A golden named Carl and a cat named Lola.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Steve Martin.

Do you have children? Two.

First job? A server at Pizza Hut.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A teacher. I did not become a teacher, but I have a lot of jobs: Realtor with Miscella Real Estate, school bus driver, pet sitter, server in a restaurant and I teach swimming lessons.

A book or movie you’d recommend? “For One More Day” by Mitch Albom and “The Wizard of Oz.”

Favorite charity? TriCity Family Services.

What game show would you be on? “Let’s Make A Deal.”

Favorite local restaurant? Riganato Old World Grille in Geneva.

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I used to be a competitive body builder. I won third place for Miss New Hampshire.
