Fox River and Countryside firefighters participate in 'Fill the Boot' campaign

Members of the Fox River and Countryside Fire Department will be at the intersection of LaFox and Burlington roads as part of the annual "Fill the Boot" fundraising campaign to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Firefighters are scheduled to be at the intersection from 2 to 6 p.m. on Fridays, Aug. 15, 22 and 29.

Funds raised through 2014 Fox River and Countryside events will help support MDA's programs of worldwide research, specialized health care services, and day-to-day support – which includes sending children affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases to a weeklong, barrier-free MDA summer camp at Timber Pointe Outdoors Center in Hudson, Illinois, according to a news release.
