GENEVA – Soup to Nuts, 716 W. State St., Geneva, is hosting the Fox Valley Holistic Health Celebration, beginning with a Buddhist blessing, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday outside of the store.
The event features more than 70 area exhibitors offering a variety of holistic, organic and environmentally safe products and services.
Visitors can learn about acupuncture, reflexology, aromatherapy and essential oils, holistic parenting, the slow food movement, reiki and massage, green cleaning, yoga and martial arts – even holistic pet care.
The event also features free raffles and give-aways, including tote bags with coupons, samples and offers for the first 300 visitors.
New local exhibitors have joined the event, including Honeybee Wellness chiropractic and acupuncture, Intermission Therapies, Energy Mathematics, Eye on Health Iridology, Crystal Life Technology, Charm Card Creations, Visiting Angels, Conscious Community magazine, Alphay and Peaceful Parlour.
Now in its sixth year, the event has grown, however its mission remains unchanged: To provide the community with a variety of holistic health practitioners and services in one location.
J.R. Carmany, founder of the health fair and owner of Soup to Nuts, said the intent of the celebration is to increase awareness of the holistic options to living a happy and healthy life, and to meet healers and providers in the community.
Free and discounted services, such as ionizing foot baths, reflexology, chair massage, Thai massage, reiki and animal totem readings, are a way for visitors to get a hands-on experience at the health fair, Carmany said.
