SUGAR GROVE - The man killed in a fatal crash that occurred Friday afternoon near Sugar Grove has been identified as Rodger Lambert, 73, of the 300 block of Maple Avenue in Sugar Grove.

According to the Kane County Sheriff's Office, it does not appear there were any other vehicles involved and investigators are trying to determine if the driver suffered a medical event prior to the crash. At approximately 5:15 p.m., the Kane County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Densmore Road, south of Hankes Road, for a report of a pickup truck that had crashed into a utility pole. The crash occurred near Prestbury subdivision.

According to the sheriff's office, Lambert was driving south on Densmore and left the roadway for an unknown reason and struck the pole.

Sugar Grove firefighters responded to the scene and an EMS helicopter was dispatched, but Lambert was pronounced deceased at the scene.
