Fox Valley Court Watch to host training session Sept. 16 for volunteers

ST. CHARLES – Fox Valley Court Watch will provide a training session on Tuesday, Sept. 16, for interested volunteers in Kendall and Kane counties.

The training will be held in the training room of the St. Charles Police Department, 211 N. Riverside Ave., St. Charles. The day will begin at 8 a.m. with a continental breakfast and will end at 4 p.m.

Volunteers must be 18, have an email address, have daily email access and commit to at least one half-day session on a weekday per month for at least six months. Visit www.foxvalleycourtwatch.org for the application form, and click on "Contact Us" to indicate you will attend the training session.

Volunteers are trained in domestic violence dynamics and court procedures, and they document observations of trial activities in misdemeanor and felony domestic violence cases with an eye toward identifying strengths and weaknesses in Kane and Kendall counties' judicial systems.
