Book signing part of rock show Saturday at the Arcada

ST. CHARLES – Author Jill Meniketti will be signing copies of her book, "Welcome to Groove House," starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 9, in the lobby at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., St. Charles. A show featuring Quiet Riot, Y&T and Hellion will start at 8 p.m.

Meniketti is the manager of Y&T, and she has tacked her book tour onto the very musical tour that she’d booked for the band, according to a news release.

“It made perfect sense,” Meniketti stated in the release. “I organize world tours for Y&T every year, so I figured, there’s my built-in book tour. Sure, it’s unconventional not to sign at bookstores, but here’s an interested audience, and this rock 'n’ roll story is right up their alley.”

Aside from managing the band, the author is the longtime wife of the band’s founding member, lead singer and guitarist, Dave Meniketti.

“I was never the ‘Spinal Tap’ girlfriend,” she stated in the release. “I always stayed out of the band business; that was his thing. Decades later the band approached me about the job, as they’d decided to fire their longtime manager. I felt honored to even be considered!”

Welcome to Groove House is available in hardcover and ebook formats at Y&T shows and book stores.
