Prep roundup: St. Charles North boys tennis finishes off undefeated conference season

ST. CHARLES – North (16-1, 7-0 Upstate Eight Conference River Division) won all seven matches in straight sets, including Aaron Amburgey’s 6-3, 6-3 victory in No. 1 singles, to beat Streamwood, 7-0, and finish the UEC regular season undefeated.

Matt Kramer won, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2 singles and Ajay Gustafson won his No. 3 singles match, 6-0, 6-0.

The North Stars won all but one game in all four doubles matches combined with the help of a, 6-0, 6-0, win from No. 1 doubles pair of Will Dunteman and Matt Ernst.

Geneva 6, West Chicago 1: At Geneva, Mike Guffey won at No. 2 singles in straight sets, not losing a game to help Geneva pick up the conference win. Adam Said and Seth Dickinson also did not lose a game at No. 3 doubles in the win for the Vikings.

BASEBALL

Kaneland 9, Burlington Central 2: At Elgin, Nick Stratman drove in two runs, while Matt Rosko and Austin Wheatley each added two hits in the nonconference with for 15-10 Kaneland in the game played at Judson University.

Jake Johnson and Ryan Anderson had two hits apiece for BC (21-6).
