GENEVA – Though she wasn't heard from on Wednesday's episode on "American Idol," Geneva singer Kayla Mickelsen stated in a Facebook post that she did reach the group round competition, which is to air tonight.

Wednesday's show featured highlights of the "lines of 10" competition. The show stated there were 190 competitors, and that half would be eliminated. It was a one-hour show, and many performers were not shown. The show is airing footage of its "Hollywood Week."

Tonight's episode starts at 7 p.m. on Fox, and it is a two-hour episode with fewer competitors.

At her Facebook page – www.facebook.com/kaylamickelsenmusic – Mickelsen posted a message stating, "Despite what you may have seen, I DID make it past lines of ten." She posted that she performed "Blue Suede Shoes."

Mickelsen, a senior at Geneva High School, was featured on a previous show receiving a golden ticket and a trip to Hollywood. She works at Nobel House and Graham's Chocolates in Geneva.

The Hollywood footage was taped previously and is airing this week. She has talked about the Hollywood experience as being intense and memorable.

In an email response to a question, Mickelsen talked up tonight's episode.

"I had a lot of fun on group night, and I can't wait to see the show tonight," she wrote.
