Man airlifted for treatment following Batavia industrial accident

BATAVIA – A 37-year-old Aurora man is recovering after being airlifted to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove on Aug. 23, following an industrial accident in Batavia, Batavia Police Detective Kevin Bretz said.

Bretz said Aug. 24 that the patient remained in the hospital.

The Batavia Police Department and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration investigated the industrial accident that occurred at 8:43 a.m. Aug. 23 at Tranz Shop, 1707 E. Wilson St., Batavia, officials announced in a press release.

Fire and police personnel were dispatched for a man that had been injured after a truck fell off a lift and struck him while he was underneath it, the release stated. Police did not release the victim's name.

An employee who was also in the shop had removed him from under the truck by the time emergency responders arrived, the release stated.
