Yorkville resident Jillian Runkle, 18, was volunteering at the Fox Valley Wildlife Center in Elburn when she answered questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Brenda Schory.

Schory: Where did you grow up?
Runkle: Yorkville

Schory: Do you have any pets?
Runkle: A guinea pig named Yogi

Schory: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Runkle: I wanted to be a writer, but now I’m going to school for conservation biology and I want to work with an environmental nonprofit.

Schory: Favorite charity?
Runkle: Peacejam.

Schory: Favorite ice cream flavor?
Runkle: This Just Got Serious, a flavor at Foxy’s Ice Cream in Yorkville

Schory: Book or movie you would recommend?
Runkle: “The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom” by Don Miguel Ruiz

Schory: What is an interesting factoid about yourself?
Runkle: I have met 14 Nobel Peace laureates, half of them I talked to, the others I heard speak.
