Face Time with Monica Meyers

Monica Meyers was at an Elburn Chamber of Commerce meeting March 2 at the Community Congregational Church to present information on an April 4 referendum to raise funds for the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. She answered questions for the Kane County Chronicle’s Tom Laue.

Laue: Where did you grow up?

Meyers: Maryland

Laue: Family?

Meyers: Husband and two teenage sons

Laue: When did you come to Illinois?

Meyers: 1992

Laue: What is your job?

Meyers: Executive director for the Forest Preserve District of Kane County since 2004

Laue: What do you like about your work?

Meyers: I feel privileged to be involved in ... work that directly benefits the community’s quality of life, as well as the long-term environmental health for future generations.

Laue: Hobbies?

Meyers: Gardening, movies, traveling and spending time with my husband and teenage sons.
