Comedic, musical version of 'Rapunzel' on tap at Playhouse 38

GENEVA – “Rapunzel – The Musical” will be presented at Playhouse 38, 321 Stevens St., Geneva, featuring a hilarious adaptation of the long-haired princess and her suitor, the Geneva Park District announced in a news release.

“Rapunzel – The Musical” was written by the creators of the popular television series “Friends,” which aired from 1994 to 2004, the release stated.

Forced to live alone in a tower with nothing but her hair and her mother – a witch – Rapunzel’s 16th birthday has come and she gets to see the outside world for the first time, the release stated.

The mother reneges on a promise. Then a young prince named Brian happens across the tower and calls Rapunzel out as he has heard her mother do: “Rapunzel! Let down your hair!” the release stated.

The young couple have to face the witch’s wrath and other hilarious obstacles before they live happily ever after, the release stated.
