Batavia Historical Society seeks antiques for benefit sale

BATAVIA– The Batavia Historical Society is seeking donations for its “Antiques on Main” event scheduled during Batavia’s citywide garage sale May 5 and 6. Volunteers also are needed to assist at the sale.

It will be held at the historic Gustafson House, 1117 Main St. All proceeds will benefit the Batavia Depot Museum expansion project, according to a news release.

The historical society is looking for antique and vintage items, including old costume jewelry, records (LPs and 45s), small furniture items, Americana collectibles, retro toys, antique dishware, seasonal items and other wares. Clothing will not be accepted.

Items can be dropped off at the Batavia Park District's former teen center at the corner of Prairie and State streets from 9:30 to 1:30 p.m. April 21 and 26 or by contacting Carla Hill at carlah@hilltek.com.
