GENEVA – A man with an unknown address was charged with felony residential burglary, according to police reports and court records.

Michael A. Vorkapic, 25, whose address police said was unknown, was charged March 29 with entering a house in the 700 block of Anderson Boulevard, with the intent to commit a theft, according to court records.

When the homeowner got home, she saw that the rear door of her house, which was inside a sun room, had been pried open using a tire iron that was located on the sofa in the sun room, police reports stated.

When the homeowner saw that her digital media player was missing, she called police, reports stated.

Vorkapic posted $3,000 bond, which is 10 percent of the $30,000 bail that was set, court records show.

The felony charge has a penalty of four to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.

Vorkapic is scheduled to appear in court May 17.
