Local Lions members receive awards

GENEVA – Geneva Lions Club members William Tomasek of St. Charles and Howie Pribble of Batavia recently were recognized at the club's annual convention in Itasca, officials announced in a news release.

Tomasek was honored with the Jim and Joyce Davis Lifetime Achievement Award with 54 years of service, the release stated.

Pribble received the George Lazansky Distinguished Service Award, which is given to district Lions for their outstanding contributions to Lionism at any of a variety of levels in the organization, the release stated.

The Geneva Lions Club works within Geneva and St. Charles to raise money primarily for the benefit of persons with sight or hearing disabilities, but also to donate to local community organizations, the release stated.
