Kane County teachers, staff recognized through annual awards

GENEVA – The Kane County Regional Office of Education has announced those who won awards through its annual Educator of the Year program in a news release.

Matt Gain, an eighth-grade science teacher at Geneva Middle School South, received the top 2017 Educator of the Year Award, according to the release.

Alice Gustafson Elementary School music teacher Mary Jensen in Batavia received the Elementary School Teacher of the Year, the release stated.

Alice Froemling, who teaches freshman and sophomore English at St. Charles North High School, received a first Regional Superintendent Award, the release stated.

Cindy Miller, a physical education and health teacher at Kaneland High School, received a second Regional Superintendent Award, according to the release.

And Debra Brannon, an administrative assistant to the athletic director at St. Charles North High School, received the Educational Service Personnel Award, the release stated.
