Sister suspected of stabbing brother in Batavia

BATAVIA – A domestic disturbance involving a knife is being investigated by Batavia police.

Officers responded at 2:57 p.m. May 18 to an apartment in the 1100 block of West Wilson Street, where a 31-year-old male resident was found with a small puncture wound to his shoulder, according to a news release. He was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital with minor injuries, the release stated.

Police said a witness told them the injured man's visiting 30-year-old sister had fled the scene on foot. She later was found in the 1400 block of West Wilson Street on the far western edge of the Batavia High School campus, where she was taken into custody for questioning, according to police. At no time were students or staff members in danger, the release stated.

The investigation is still ongoing, and no charges have been filed, according to the release.
