To the Editor:
While President Donald Trump dominates the news and provides fodder for comedians around the world, inmates provide cheap labor to corporations in need of money to inflate the pocketbooks of CEOs and investors, while the rest of us pay for incarceration. Surely, this is a sad state of affairs.
Meanwhile, not far away, minimum wage workers apply for assistance in order to support their families in an economy which places little value on their work. The cards are stacked against them; yet, many are demonized for their plight, which they had little, if anything, to do with.
Then Trump proposes to kick millions off of health care in order to give shameful, unnecessary and harmful tax cuts to the wealthiest among us.
Is this the America we aspire to?
