We hope you had a chance to attend Swedish Days last month. The weather was perfect for all six days, and the crowds were grand.
A GIANT thank you to the city of Geneva departments for making sure the downtown always looked its best and for all the pre-work of setting up and hooking up whatever was necessary to run the six day event.
To the Geneva Police Department, Geneva Fire Department and Geneva EMA for keeping everyone safe. To Kane County for allowing us to use its property for our exciting events and attractions. The sponsors who were present all week, the over 140 volunteers who represented Geneva superbly and the Geneva businesses for staying open late for the throngs of visitors.
To anyone who donated monetarily, time or talents – Geneva Chamber of Commerce appreciates it! This festival is truly a COMMUNITY event.
Geneva Arts Fair
Now that it is July, on to the Geneva Arts Fair. Downtown Third Street in Geneva will be transformed into a venue for esteemed artists July 22 and 23.
Presented by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, with the assistance of the city of Geneva, the juried show is celebrating 16 years. Visitors can leisurely stroll and marvel at works from more than 155 fine artisans from around the country, who display their unique oils and acrylics, vibrant watercolors, captivating sculptures, dazzling jewelry, decorative ceramics and vivid photography.
The expertise and products of Plandscape Inc. will make over the corners of South Third and Franklin streets into a breathtaking display of foliage and color. You won’t believe that this beauty is only temporary.
Geneva merchants and restaurants will also be providing guests with sales and food and wine specials, creating two full days of sensory overload.
The arts fair is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Visit genevachamber.com for more information.
Also beginning in July are the Geneva Chamber Classic Car Shows, Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. through Aug. 24. Step back in time at the historic Kane County Courthouse as car collectors gather together to show off their rides. Make it a night and grab a bite at one of the many award-winning restaurants, then visit the shops that are open late.
And don’t forget to explore and enjoy Pedal Geneva bikes all over town. A map can be downloaded at genevachamber.com. Our merchants have done a superb job of transforming an ordinary bike into something extraordinary. Like your favorite on Facebook at "Geneva, IL – Chamber of Commerce & Tourism" and look for the "Pedal Geneva" photo album.
