South Elgin police seeking suspects in armed robbery of delivery driver

SOUTH ELGIN – At approximately 11:10 p.m. July 28, the South Elgin Police Department responded to the 300 block of Pleasant Drive for a reported armed robbery.

Officers on the scene learned that a delivery driver for a local restaurant was delivering food when the driver was approached by two male subjects who were wearing masks and armed with handguns, stated a news release from the police department. The subjects took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency, the driver’s cellphone and the food. The subjects then fled on foot northbound from the scene.

Officers canvassed the area with a K-9 and did not locate the subjects. The South Elgin Police Department is following up on several leads at this time, stated the release.

If anyone has any information about the incident, they are asked to contact the Investigations Division at 847-741-2151.
