Railside 4/7 races to take place Aug. 19 in Elburn

ELBURN – Railside 4/7 – a series of races benefiting local charities, the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance and the Elburn Food Pantry – will take place Aug. 19. Railside 4/7 will include a one-mile fun run/walk, a four-mile run and a seven-mile run.

All races will start and finish at John Stewart Elementary School, 817 Prairie Valley St., Elburn.

"Unique to our event, the four-mile and seven-mile courses cross the Union Pacific West rail line via the Anderson Road bridge, offering a stunning view of Elburn and the surrounding countryside," states the event web page.

Runners can participate as individuals or as a team. Cost ranges from $10 to $45, depending on the race and when one registers. Runs will start at 7:30 or 8 a.m.
