The final home game for the Aurora 88s is set for Sept. 9 against Confluence Crush from St. Louis, complete with half-time entertainment and support for the charity of the month. Local derby official Brittany Monroe said braver spectators can bypass the regular folding chairs and opt for the "suicide seating" closer to the players. The Aurora 88s season will wrap up with an away game Oct. 21 at Battle Creek, Mich., against the Battle Creek Cereal Killers.
The sport, invented in Chicago, just celebrated its 82nd anniversary, and now numbers about 2,000 leagues around the world.
