• DUFIELD POND - 11750 Country Club Road, Woodstock
The 7-acre pond is open from sunrise to sunset, and anglers can nd such fish species as largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, channel catfish and yellow perch.
• THE HOLLOWS - 3804 Route 14, Cary
The park is open from sunrise to sunset but does not allow minnows. Lake Atwood is the biggest of the property’s lakes (around 22 acres) and can be fished from shore or boat. It offers bluegill, largemouth bass and channel catfish, among others.
• THREE OAKS RECREATION AREA - 5517 Route 14, Crystal Lake
Featuring the North Lake and the South Lake, Three Oaks offers shore fishing from both locations, but boat rentals are available for North Lake. The park operates from 5:30 a.m. to sunset and offers 10 species of fish, but all fish must be released.
• MCHENRY DAM AT MORAINE HILLS STATE PARK - 1510 S. River Road, McHenry
Open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, the park traditionally features numerous species of fish at its dam, including catfish, drum, walleye and largemouth bass.
