KANEVILLE TOWNSHIP – Kane County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a crash with injuries on Perry Road at the curve between Harter and Miner roads in Kaneville Township on Sept. 29.

A Nissan Sentra driven by Jose Becerra of Rochelle was traveling east on Perry Road when it entered into the westbound lane of traffic for an unknown reason, according to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office news release. A Harley-Davidson driven by Kenneth Ford of Batavia was traveling west on Perry Road when the two vehicles collided in the westbound traffic lane.

Ford, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, was transported to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva with potentially life-threatening injuries; Becerra was not injured, according to the release.

Becerra was issued a ticket for improper lane usage, according to the release.

Kane County Sheriff’s Office deputies and members of the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team are continuing to investigate the crash, the release stated.
