Letter: An amazing homecoming week

To the editor:

On behalf of the staff and students of Kaneland High School, we would like to thank the Kaneland community for its support of our amazing homecoming week. With the help of all of you, we were able to show off our Knight pride with our spirit week, assemblies, Powder Puff game, and our third annual homecoming parade in Maple Park.

A very special thank you goes to the village of Maple Park, Village President Kathleen Curtis, village Public Works Director Mike Miller, Fire Chief Kevin Peterson, and Sgt. Karen Clifton for their expertise and their tremendous logistical guidance and support in making our parade a success. We are also very grateful for the Maple Park Police Department for helping with traffic and safety of all those attending the parade.

In addition, a special thank you goes to Harris Golf Carts, Kuipers Family Farm, Robert Kruse and Kruse Trucking, and Fabrizius Farm for their parade support. We would also like to thank the Maple Park Fire Department, as well as the Elburn, Kaneville, and Sugar Grove police and fire departments for leading our parade. We would also like to thank all of the clubs, sports, bands, community groups and their sponsors or coaches, as well as all of the volunteers who assisted with the entries, making this our largest parade yet.

We are grateful for the hundreds of parents, alumni, staff and community members who came out to show their support for our many events throughout the week. We appreciated that you all helped express to our greater community how we do things “The Knight Way.”
