Kuipers Family Farm, 1N318 Watson Road, Maple Park, has scares and more for people to enjoy.
The farm is primarily a you-pick apple orchard and pumpkin farm in the fall, according to owner Kim Kuiper. In addition to the orchard, pumpkin patch, bakery, apple cider doughnuts, home-baked pies, and store with fall items and food, there are autumnal activities as well.
“In the pumpkin farm area we have hay rids, a petting zoo, a corn field maze and a jumping pillow that’s similar to a trampoline,” Kuiper said. “ … It’s a really popular activity at the pumpkin farm.”
Activities for those that want chills and thrills include the Haunted Forest and Uncle Jed’s Scream Shed. The Haunted Forest used to be aimed at younger children and is now aimed at middle school-age children. Uncle Jed’s Scream Shed is “sort of an animal barn gone wrong type of experience,” Kuiper said.
