BATAVIA – Models strolling the runway will set the sparkling stage for the annual Batavia Woman's Club fashion show, a benefit featuring lunch, cocktails and inventive raffles Nov. 4 at the Q Center in St. Charles.
Proceeds will support Rise From The Ashes, which provides free legal services to financially struggling women trying to navigate marital and custody issues in order to escape domestic violence.
Diane Anderson of North Aurora, a former longtime Batavian, again co-chairs the fashion show, along with Mike Burke of Batavia, social chairwoman for the philanthropic club that numbers 81 members and is celebrating its 125th anniversary. They hope the fundraiser, whose theme is a winter wonderland, will draw 350 guests.
"We are a club of women from all over the Tri-Cities area and beyond," Burke said. "Anybody is welcome to join."
The Geneva and Batavia boutiques showing their apparel will be Flair on 3rd, C.Rinella Designs, Crystal Bride and Special Occasions on the Avenue, as well as Jones New York, plus Batavia High School design students. Also on the runway will be performers from Fred Astaire Dance Studio of St. Charles.
