CAMPTON HILLS – The village of Campton Hills will host its annual Holiday in the Hills event from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 1.

“This is a great opportunity to kick off the holiday season as a community," stated Village President Harry Blecker in a news release. "We would love to see the community join together for this event and support our local businesses that have helped make this possible."

The official tree lighting ceremony and ornament decorating will take place in front of Village Hall, located at 40W270 LaFox Road. There will be a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will arrive by fire engine.

In addition, Holiday in the Hills will feature local musicians from the Kaneland High School Madrigals group, Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra and Thompson Middle School in St. Charles. Holiday live greens will be available for purchase, along with roasted chestnuts.

Local Campton Hills businesses will be open during the event. The businesses are hosting a scavenger hunt for those attendees age 17 and younger, with prizes. The grand prize will be an iPad, and other prizes will include gift cards and gift baskets. Free shuttle buses will be available to take participants to the various businesses and events throughout the evening.

Event organizers also invite children to bring environmentally friendly ornaments and decorations they have made to hang on the holiday tree in front of Village Hall during the event.
