BATAVIA – Bentley’s Pet Stuff in Batavia will collect donations for a wish list from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through Dec. 15.
Here Comes Santa Paws is the name of the company’s campaign for the hospital. The gifts will give parents of hospitalized children an opportunity to pick out items that will be wrapped and delivered to their loved ones on Christmas morning, according to the instructions for donors.
“We appreciate a place that is looking out for children and their parents while they are in the hospital during the holidays,” Lisa Senafe, founder and owner of Bentley’s Pet Stuff stores, stated in an email. “St. Jude’s is such a wonderful organization, offering a service where they take anyone in and no one has to pay. We wish there were more places like that.”
Senafe said her company regularly runs campaigns benefiting companion animals, as well as children, whether it be food donations for dogs or toys and gifts in response to organizations’ wish lists.
“We feel it’s important to help animals and young children who do not have a voice of their own,” she stated.
The holistic, all-natural pet food company operates in 11 states. The local store is at 1934 W. Fabyan Parkway near Trader Joe’s.
Unwrapped new items requested for the Bentley’s drop box include DVDs, popular TV show seasons on DVD, adult coloring books, nail polish and manicure sets, gift cards to major businesses, board and card games, young adult books, LEGO items, craft kits, colored pencils, markers and crayons, lip gloss, makeup, cosmetic bags, toys, teethers and rattles.
