BATAVIA – The Swedish American Children's Choir will present the 19th annual Swedish Christmas and St. Lucia Festival at 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at Bethany Lutheran Church, located at 8 S. Lincoln St. in Batavia.

It will feature music by the choir directed by Marguerite Karl, as well as violinists Margaret Lekander and Christopher Karl, flutist Julia Lekander and Shirley Fox, piano soloist and choir accompanist.

This year's St. Lucia, Queen of Light, will be portrayed by Sydney Poss of North Aurora.

Following the concert, a Swedish Christmas sweet table will be served, and Jul Tomte – Swedish Santa – will visit with the children. Also available for purchase will be baked goods.

The Swedish American Children's Choir is the largest choir of its kind in the Midwest. In their 18th year, the choristers have performed at numerous venues in the Tri-State area. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the choir tour fund.

Tickets are by reservation only and cost $15 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 to 12. For reservations, call the choir office at 630-414-9700.
