Geneva rode that stellar shooting effort to a 41-27 lead at halftime, but Bartlett was able to fight back into the game in the second half. After the Vikings opened their lead up to 15 early in the third quarter, the Hawks capped a 13-5 run with a Byron Price steal and layup to cut the Geneva lead to 52-45.
However, early in the fourth quarter, McDonald made his presence felt at the rim. On back-to-back possessions, McDonald scored layups with a fake behind-the-back passes that he cupped and brought back around to flip it gently off the backboard and a spin move for an easy two.
