To the editor:
My name is Steve Hindi, and I live in the Nottingham Woods development, which is located south of Elburn. On the evening of Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, numerous automobiles, including my own, were burglarized by what seemed to be a gang of at least three individuals. I have home security video footage of the burglary of my car, and two individuals are visible on foot, as well as a car driven by a third individual. That footage has, of course, been supplied to the sheriff.
According to the police, ours was not the only community hit, nor was this the first time this kind of thing has happened. The Kane County Sheriff’s Office has not been able to make any arrests in this case.
This neighborhood used to be considered very safe. Now, people are wary and concerned. I feel further action must be taken to try to protect our neighborhoods and to keep the crimes from escalating.
I am offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the thieves. Those with information can call me at 630-640-1889. The thieves have likely bragged about their exploits, and someone may be willing to pass information along. If we don’t stop this activity now, it will only escalate.
