The St. Charles community was rocked earlier this year when Randall Coffland shot his two 16-year-old daughters – Brittany and Tiffany – to death and then himself.
In addition, the girls' mother, Anjum, was shot and injured during the incident.
The girls and their father were all found with single gunshot wounds to their heads in a condominium at 450 S. First St., St. Charles, on March 10, where Randall Coffland lived with the girls, St. Charles police said.
A crowd of St. Charles East High School students, many holding candles, gathered just before dusk March 11 to honor the memories of their slain classmates, who were twins and juniors at at the school.
“They were just really sweet,” classmate Savhanna Thiry had said. “They always meant well. They were always super nice and super fun. … Obviously, with so many people here, they will be missed. They are no longer in our lives, but they will be forever in our hearts.”
