Ah, a new year is almost upon us.
I myself will be going to a New Year’s Eve party at the house of a friend I’ve known since high school. My sisters will probably be there. And other friends.
There also will be two crazy German shorthaired pointers to keep things interesting!
The new year has always kind of sneaked up on me. I get so wrapped up in Christmas that I don’t really think about New Year’s too much.
Some years I’ve just stayed home. I did that a few years ago and celebrated the new year by making a special cake with the year written in goofy letters on top. That cake didn’t look too great, but it sure tasted good!
I’ve been to Navy Pier, concerts and other parties on New Year’s Eve. I’ve never hosted my own party – although I think that will happen someday.
My dad has a special way of celebrating the new year. He always makes a lobster dinner. I think that’s an absolutely fabulous way to ring in the next 12 months.
I’ve made some resolutions in the past. One that I actually stuck with was no fast food for a year. That wasn’t always easy, but it was rewarding to make a goal and stick with it.
I still haven’t decided whether I’ll make a resolution for 2018. If you’ve got an interesting resolution you’re working on, shoot me an email. I’d love to hear about it.
No matter what you’re doing to celebrate the holiday, please do it safely. Make sure you have a designated driver or some other form of safe transportation if you plan on making alcohol a part of your party.
I sincerely wish all of our readers a great new year. May you accomplish much and see success!
