Tattoo and body piercing possibly coming to The Landing in Sugar Grove

SUGAR GROVE – The Sugar Grove Planning Commission Board unanimously voted to petition an amendment to an ordinance for The Landing's planned unit development to allow for the permitted use of tattoo and body piercing.

Param Vijay, the owner of the building complex located at 522 N. Sugar Grove Parkway, was present at the meeting to answer questions regarding a tattoo parlor wanting to open a shop in his complex. The potential tenant is interested in Lot 4.

Vijay explained the owner of the tattoo and body piercing studio currently has a location in Elgin.

“We [have been] trying to find some tenant to fill the space for six or seven years now,” Vijay said. “One of the prospects is in Elgin and looking to expand to this area."

The Village Board will discuss the possibility of Vijay’s prospective tenant at the board meeting to be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 9.

The Planning Commission Board also discussed the location of the upcoming public hearing for Heartland Recycling. The board will hold its public hearing for Heartland Recycling at the Sugar Grove Public Library, 125 Municipal Drive, at 7 p.m. Jan. 10.
