North (7-3, 3-0) began the game sloppily with seven fouls in the first quarter, but turned the tables in short order. Trailing 18-9 with 6:03 left in the half, North enjoyed a 13-3 run to take a 22-21 lead into the half.
King got things started with a running layup, and junior Tyler Nubin (seven points, four rebounds) converted on a tough reverse layup following a rebound on the other end. Free throws and a Brendan Dal Degan three-pointer tied the game at 20 with under a minute to go, but King ensured the lead following a layup.
By the fourth quarter, North took a pair of 10-point leads, but Batavia wouldn't go away quietly. Eric Peterson rose for 11 of his 16 points – Including back-to-back three-pointers to position Batavia down 43-39.
